Frequently Asked Questions
Is VOICING© a psychiatric therapy or treatment?
No, it is not. Please consult healthcare professionals for psychiatric or psychological therapy or treatments. All healthy individuals can benefit from VOICING©. VOICING© can be applied as a complement and support work for problems such as depression, anxiety, lack of self-confidence, trauma, social shyness, difficulties in emotional regulation, communication and relationships.
Is VOICING© a stuttering treatment method?
No, it is not. VOICING© appeals to everyone. Based on my own experience, I can say that people with stuttering have a little more difficulty than others in communicating their inner potential and gaining freedom of expression. As the internal difficulties disappear, the fluency in the speech automatically returns. “Beyond Talking” is a method that complements/supports the stuttering treatment process specially designed to remove the internal blockages and fears around talking. Emotional awareness, cognitive restructuring and learnings are provided with VOICING© and Trauma techniques.
Do I need to have singing talent or skill to participate in sessions?
No. Singing and self-expression is a birthright! Today, it is said that we have the ability to sing when we can repeat exactly a certain melody and lyrics. The most important teaching of the VOICING© technique: Everyone can sing. The participant is encouraged to move easily in his inner world and express himself through singing, regardless of how he looks or how he sounds, by singing spontaneously and using a non-verbal, non-mental language.
Can I become a professional singer by participating in sessions?
The VOICING© technique is not a singing teaching method. Individual sessions are recommended for singers, if they have difficulty in reaching certain sounds or tones. We cannot express the sounds and tones that correspond to feelings that we cannot accept, and we are not at peace with. With VOICING© participant is supported to look at emotions and beliefs that he or she is not in peace. The resonant spontaneous singing brings deep acceptance. This in result enables our capacity to reach desired sounds and tones.
How long do individual sessions last?
Individual sessions last between 60-90 minutes. It is recommended to come with comfortable and sports clothes. After the session, it is recommended to plan 15-20 minutes of rest before leaving.
What is done in the session?
With VOICING© we help the person to recover, include and express experiences, using a non-verbal, non-mental language which is the spontaneous singing. This produces a relaxation in the whole body including the vocal chords that allows to sing out those emotions that have created heaviness, tensions and energetic blockages. Singing includes acceptance and is therefore the closest to the heart, to love, which is the capital ingredient for healing: no need to try to change but surrender to what is. Bio-Energetic, Centering, Breathing, Shamanism, Healing, NLP and various meditation techniques will also be used to encourage and support the process.
How often are sessions held?
For the best results, sessions are recommended to be done once per week. The frequency of sessions depends on individual needs and are planned together with the participant.
How many sessions should I take?
Everyone is different and unique. The number of sessions depends on the individual needs and are planned together with the participant.
